Thornton wins big to advance

RICHTON PARK - The Thornton Wildcats (10 - 1) of Harvey, Illinois came out with lots of energy and with one thing on their mind and in their sites, Big Dipper Championship. The Wildcats played the host team, Rich South Stars (6 -3), in the other semi-final game.

The Wildcats, behind Reggie Smith, jumped out with a big lead that was never contested on the afternoon. Smith scored 30 points but that doesn’t tell the entire story. His leadership preceded the amount of points scored. He was a film director, directing the actors on the floor, where they need to be and what to do when called upon.

Kendrick Morse who scored 16 points led the Stars.

Thornton will face Rich East in a SICA battle at the BIG Dipper 2008. Stay tune....
