Hillcrest vs. Homewood-Flossmoor
|
The Vikings had to play against Hillcrest
without the services of highly-recruited lineman
John Tribedeau, who broke his leg in practice Thursday and it proved to
be a tough contest going down 28-6.
Senior Herb Offord had the team going in the right direction with two scores giving the Hawks the edge at the half with a 21-6 lead. Offord finished the night going 6 for 9 with 78 yards in the air and 28 yards on the ground. In addition, a short run touchdown was ran by Morgan Weaver. Hillcrest coach, Ernie Sutton, recognizes that he was go as far as his defense and after the game he said “our defense has been absolutely outstanding. Of course, we weren’t perfect, we gave up that long touchdown, but our guys pretty much shut them down after that.” NOTE: Tribedeau will be out of action for the next two months. |
