HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - WEEK 7

This is the week of positioning.... many team are trying to position themselves in the best possible spot for the playoffs including several conference rivalries. Plus, IHSA had to adjust a new state record. For more click here.

CONGRATULATIONS MARIAH SMITH

Smith, a 6-foot guard/forward made her selection on her second official visit, and her selection was Princeton! Smith averaged 16 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season for the Knights, who reached the Class 3A supersectionals. She’s a three-year varsity starter who also played on Richwoods’ Class 3A state championship team in 2009. Smith is also listed as 57th in her recruiting class and ninth at her position by ESPN.com. CONGRATULATIONS and best of EVERYTHING!

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - WEEK 6

FRIDAY NIGHT  LIGHTS - WEEK 5
As many begin the annual argument of which (football) class is stronger, 8A or 7A, one thing is for sure, the Suburban conferences will be there. This weekend, puts some legacy rivalries on the field as well as some old staples...

Week 5 had just about everything, as many teams celebrated homecoming and their 8 graders. In addition to these notes, there were ten teams coming into Sunday that are UNDEFEATED and when all of the smoke cleared, there were eight as South Holland (PeeWee) and Markham (Varsity) received their first defeats of the season. Brooks, a 6-3 guard, has given a verbal commitment to DePaul. Brooks has been known to put on a show with his athleticism and dunking ability. He often has been described by his coaches as a Big East player due to his athleticism. For more, click here.

NFL addresses concussions

The NFL will hang a poster in all 32 team locker rooms urging players to report concussions or symptoms, warning that repeated concussions "can change your life and your family's life forever".

NFL spokesman, Greg Aiello, said "it is intended to present the most current and objective medical information on concussion." For more, click here!
