Hales 86 - Rich Central 40
^{The first half of this contest is all Spartans getting things going with a 22-9 run behind the hot hands of senior Patrick Miller with 15 followed by Jamie Adams with 11. Miller didn't start due to an excused absence got things started with a power dunk and from this point the Spartans never let up running an 18-7 lead. Then to top things off, Miller nailed a l-o-n-g range 3-pointer at the buzzer for a 29-11 lead.}

"I just tried to bring a spark off the bench," said Miller, who scored a game-high 24 points. "The whole morning I was imitating LeBron (James) and I decided to do it because I seen him do it yesterday (against the Lakers)."

The Spartans were not done. In the second half, they kept the gas smashed to the floor jumping out to as much as a 47 points lead- 78-31.

"We looked really sharp right from the beginning," coach Gary London said. "We moved the ball around good and our defense created our offense."

The Stars high scorer was Deji Ibitayo with 9.

Richards 56 - Lincoln Park 57
In a nail biter, Lincoln Park surprises Richards.

Johnnie Holmes kept the Bulldogs close with several from downtown, but in the end senior guard Greg Tucker was just too much finished the contest with 18 and tying the game at 43 in the fourth with only  45 seconds in the quarter.

Mike Gabriel and Demarco Nash both added 10 for the Lions to advance and play Rich South Monday at 830p

Rich South 72 – Fenger 33
In the fourth game – Titans vs. Stars. From the tip to the buzzer it was all Stars. Macari Brooks got things roaring with a fast start offensively knocking down 24 points with Tyrone Allen being a true compliment adding 16.

The second half the Stars were shining bright running 36 points to the Titans 16 to advance to play Lincoln Park Monday night at 830p.

Thornton 67 – Rich East 45
To tip things off in the night cap games, in a rematch of last years' final where the Wildcats won on a three-point buzzer beater from then junior Reggie Smith, this years contest didn’t require overtime as the Wildcats advance 67-45.

The Wildcats (7-2) used an 11-0 run to start the second quarter and take a 28-12 lead against the Rockets.

The Wildcats had three players with double digits including Marquette bound Reggie Smith led the Cats’ with 19, followed by Brian Greene who had 13, and senior guard Jay Parker with 11.

Rich East scored just 11 points in the second quarter, as well as the third.

Thornton will face Class 2A champs Seton Monday night at 530p.

Bolingbrook 55 – Marian Catholic 50
The Raiders got off the bus runnin n’ gunnin' jumpin’ out to a 8 – 0 run behind the hot hands of Antoine Cox. The Spartans slowed the Raiders down some and got into a groove of their own with defense and an offense spurt.  

Big man Brian Gates knocked down consecutive in the paint lay-ups to move the needle for the team. He finished the game with 18 points. Dominic Jackson followed his lead and began knocking down his shots.

The Spartans got the game within 5 coming down the stretch, but the Raiders proved to be too much in this contest controlling the clock and ball in the forth to advance with a victory of 55-50.

"There were a couple of possessions in the second half where we were just too nonchalant," Brost said. "If we continue to play like that, we're just a little bit above average. But we do have the potential to be a very good team."

This explains why after the game, Bolingbrook's coach, Rob Brost, put up a message on the chalkboard which said "Don't expect to be very good if lapses like this continue."

Bolingbrook had four starters in double digits including Delorean Weatherall and LaTree Russell both had 14 points; Antione Cox  had 13 points; and Ryan Walker had 12 points.

Brian Gates led all Raiders with 14 points.

The Raiders will face Hales Monday at 4pm.

Leo 54 - Bloom Township 51
The Leo Lions led the entire game but in the fourth quarter, the Blazing Trojans started attacking the baskets and cut the lead to 3, 48-45 with two BIG free throws by Torean Ratcliff, who finished with 12 points.  But, that was as close as the game would get and the Lions advance to play Crete-Monee Monday night at 7p.

Christopher Lockhart led all scorers with 21 points, while teammate Isaac Smith added 13.

Crete-Monee 79 - Shepard 53
The Warriors took charge in this contest behind the hot hands of senior phenom Mario Redmond, who finished with 26 followed by Ray Lester who knocked down 23. The Astros were outscored 26-6 in the final quarter as the Warriors woke up late and turned on their own burners.

James Crockett had a good showing in his first game from his ankle injury scoring 13.

Bernard Burnette led Shepard with 14 points.
