This years' McLegends game not only changed venues from Homewood-Flossmoor to Thornton, but their will be some new faces on our local courts including the one and only Terrell Owens! Yup, word has it that the six-time NFL Pro Bowl player is trying to play but it is a game-day decision due to knee surgery he had earlier this year.

Nonetheless, the talent levels of the McLegends will be thick and competitive including, Chicago's very own Antwaan Randle El, Rodney Harrison, Napoleon Harris, Tai Streets and Kenyea Beach.

As for the Lady McLegends, they are packed with their own fire power. Many of the lady's not only had high-caliber college careers but they also played all over the world. For example, Missy Mitidiero played in Reykjavik, Iceland, and the Netherlands, and a few others have played in the WNBA.

Sounds like fun to me....

The game itself will take place April 16 at Thornton High School, 151st and Broadway, Harvey. The first game is

set for 11am featuring the Beggars Pizza Lady McLegends vs. the 2011 High School Girls All-Stars, immediately followed by the Coca-Coca McLegends vs. the 2011 High School Boys All-Stars at 2pm.  Admission is $7. Lincoln Highway; and the Lincoln Oasis McDonald’s, I-80/294 east of Halsted Street.

This year, there is an extra event, the McLegends X Pre-Party, April 15, 4 to 10 p.m. at the Lincoln Oasis (over I-80/294 in South Holland, east of Halsted Street), where there will be a silent auction of sports memorabilia; games and giveaways for the kids. In addition, there will be special appearances by magician Blake Alexander (4 p.m.), the Thornton High School pep band (5 p.m.), Ronald McDonald (6:30 p.m.), the Jesse White Tumblers (7 p.m.), singer/songwriter Julian Keyz (7:30 p.m.) and the Southtown All-Stars (8 p.m.).
