De La Salle is losing a key member of their squad to an already stacked Simeon this fall. Yup, it's official.... 6'2" sophomore point guard Jaylon Tate is joining the Wolverines this fall.

"Everybody keeps saying that," Simeon coach Robert Smith said. "I got a bunch of calls Saturday. It's just a rumor at this point. I haven't talked to him or his family or anybody."

Tate is the ranked 77 nationally in the class of 2013 according to Rivals.com following two impressive seasons at De La Salle. He already has several scholarship offers, including Northwestern, Providence and Xavier.

Coach Tom White was informed by Tate's mother of the decision to transfer, but he said he was not told which school Tate will attend.

"I don't know," White said. "He is leaving. I was told it was the best thing for the family. He is a good kid and a good player. I wish him the best."

If this all plays out, two-time defending 4A state champs, Simeon, should be one of the best teams in the country the next two years. Fellow sophomores Jabari Parker and Kendrick Nunn are ranked fourth and 29th nationally by Rivals, while 6-7 forward Steve Taylor is the state's top prospect in the class of 2012.

In a word.... "wow!" Young dynasty in the making....
