Bolingbrook’s Morgan Tuck is simple the area’s best...

The 6-2 Connecticut-recruit has developed into one of Illinois’ top players all-time, as well as National recognition. Tuck, who averaged better than 31 points, 10 rebounds and nearly three steals per game to lead the Raiders to a 26-1 regular-season record, has left her mark in the record books by being part of three state-championship teams.

Believe it or not, it has been reported that there were times during her freshman year that Bolingbrook’s Morgan Tuck would leave practice, find a quiet place to be alone and break down in tears.

“[Coach Anthony Smith] was on me a lot as a freshman,” Tuck said. “I would go home crying like, ‘Oh, my gosh, what am I doing wrong?’ I couldn’t do anything right.”

During the regular season, the Seton hall recruit, Heady put up big numbers across the board, averaging 15.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.6 steals per game. Samirah Ali, 5-2, Sr., G, Hillcrest

The Southern Mississippi recruit was a two-time all-tournament selection at the Rich South Galaxy and Hillcrest Holiday tournaments, and a two-time South Suburban all-conference choice. She broke the 1,000-point plateau for her career and is currently playing her way downstate in the Class 3A semifinals.
