Simeon upsets Morgan Park

- If you love offense? Well, this game was full of nothing but offense. With
well over 800 yards of offense between both teams it all came down to a 25
yard field for a freshman for Simeon... Yup, I said it.... a freshman!!!
We'll come back to to that in a minute...
Morgan Parks' Dominque Bell scored
four of the seven touchdowns for the Mustangs including a 90 yard
kickoff return. Quarterback Daron Brown also scored on the night including
an explosive 70 yard sprint.
Now for Simeon... their quarterback
Deonte Minter threw three touchdown passes including a simple short pass
that ended up being an 82 yard touchdown to Horatio Banks. Later in the
game, Banks also scored on a 60 yard run.
Now back to the fieldgoal... with 14 seconds left on the game clock,
freshman Steve Taylor, stepped to the line, took several deep breathes, and
drilled a 25 yard field goal for the win.
This is one for the books, Simeon coach Jesse Chick said. For us to
have a freshman, a sophomore and a junior step up says a lot.
