“You Cannot Conquer What You Will Not Confront!”

Have you ever been arrested?  Well, of course you have.  We all have in fact!  Perhaps you are thinking, what a bold statement; along with what are you talking about Coach Da-Nay?  Please be enlightened by the following.  Believe it or not, we have all been mentally arrested and psychologically assaulted by our own doing and being.  We have all allowed ourselves to fall victim to fear.  Fear is a distressing negative sensation induced by a perceived threat. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of danger. Fear is apparently a universal emotion; all persons, consciously or unconsciously, have fear in some sort.  Arrested by fear and imprisoned by this emotions immobilizing state; causes a multitude of reasons for not operating in our purpose; the toughest one to grasp is not that we are deficient in our dreams, resources, time, energy, finances, and as you may see and know from personal experience the list goes on.

Instantly the following quote came to me by Marianne Williamson, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.

Coaching people over the years has been liberating.  At the same time, it has shown that self-sabotaging resulting from stinking thinking is to blame for the above.  You become your own worst critic and begin to deeply embed stinking thinking inside your consciousness. Ultimately holding you back from the life you desire.  Do you desire to live life on purpose and not by default?  Then you must learn how to conquer your fear of failure and stop allowing it to hold you prisoner inside your own mind.

Failures are simply steppingstones on your way to success

"A mind focused on doubt and fear cannot focus on the journey to victory." ~ Mike Jones

We as a society and individuals focus way too much importance on failure.  Do we not?  We exaggerate this, seeing failure as the ultimate end result as an undesired conclusion of something we struggled to obtain and bring forth in our lives.  We seem to miss the mark in the sense that failure is just part of a larger development — the development of growing and learning outside of comfort zones.

Life has made me stronger and more equipped as a result of these so called “failures”.  Note I have placed the word failure in quotes, because in my opinion there is no such thing as failure.  Unless you make a conscious decision to lie down in your life and allow fear to drive your life.  On the other hand, it is my belief you are more than a conqueror and victorious.  Perhaps you’ve observed some people — opposing to all opportunity — only becoming stronger when they “fail”? How might these individuals manage such a task?

These folks manage their mindset in that they have developed an exceptional mindset: they comprehend that “failing” is an inherent part of succeeding. They understand that each time they “fail”, they’re learning from those mistakes. Perhaps “failure” is simply communication that says that something could have been done in a different way.  There is always room for improvement; which is why these folks and you can even include myself here, do not appear to be concerned much about failing.  Typically they rarely if ever view failure as an isolated experience, but as part of a much larger process.

Please understand that in our lives, failures are not end points: they’re steppingstones…steppingstones on the way to YOUR success.

They’re only as stable as YOU allow them to be in your life. They’re only final if YOU acknowledge defeat and stop trying.  Achievers succeed not because they’re not scared and/or fearful, but because they overcome fear.  They are more than a conqueror…just like YOU!
