HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Simeon 14 vs. Jefferson City (Mo.)  21 at East St. Louis
Robert Gregory and top senior recruit, who committed to Arkansas a week ago didn't make the trip to Jefferson City, Missiouri with the team due to a collarbone injury. Without their senior leader, the Wolverines fell to Jefferson City, Mo., 21-14 Sunday afternoon in the second annual City of Champions Football Classic.

“Robert is a little banged up right now with a collarbone injury,” Simeon coach Dante Culbreath said. “It happened before the season and we might have put him out there a little too early. We want to give him a little rest and have him back for the remainder of the season.”

St. Rita 0 vs.
Whitehaven (Tenn.) 7 at East St. Louis
St. Rita’s Zack Soria summed it up best... “It was frustrating out there, believe me." A day of missed opportunities resulted in St. Rita dropping a 7-0 game to Whitehaven, from Memphis, Tenn., Sunday afternoon in the second annual City of Champions Football Classic at East St. Louis.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Vocational 33, Corliss 0
Boy oh boy was it hot Thursday afternoon for this contest. The 90-degree plus temperature with a heat index of over 100 made both teams work a littler harder. But the Cavaliers got on the board early and often and jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first quarter. From here, they never looked back.  Up next for the Cavs is Fenger... September 10 at 4:30p
